“Before we can travel a path to better, we have to identify the personal, cultural, and structural barriers in the way to that success.”

Dr. Richard Hughes

About

Prior to following his dream of helping educators and students across the country as a speaker and the Learning and Innovation Advisor at PowerSchool, Dr. Hughes served as a Superintendent of Schools for over 10 years at school districts ranging in size from 360 to 5,000 students, rural to suburban. He maintains membership in a number professional organizations, including the National Society of Leadership and Success and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. Outside of work, he is an avid martial arts practitioner, earning a black belt in two different styles.

Dr. Hughes holds a bachelor of science in biology from Allegheny College, is an Alden Scholar, and a master of science in biology from State University of New York (SUNY) Fredonia.
